All in-person tutoring takes place at our workspace in the Galleries Building at 41105 Tantalus Rd; Unit 126

All of our tutors will offer in-person tutoring using our  professional set up of 6 private desks.

We are proud of the service we have offered our community for over 10 years.  We maintain a core of talented and keen math and science tutors.

We attempt to limit to 4 desks tutoring at one time in our office to maintain good space between students and tutors.

Rick Smith

Owner and proud tutor at Squamish Tutoring! With a BA in Mathematics and MEd in Education, Rick has been teaching something for most of his life. He still enjoys working with teens, especially through tutoring Math 10, 11, and 12.

Gavin

Gavin joins us this year, after completing his Masters degree at UVic.  Now residing and working in Squamish while working on his PhD in mathematics.  He is very experienced at university tutoring, and is working to "modify" his language to be friendly to high school math students!

Matt

Matt joined our tutoring team two years ago, working with students in Chemistry, FN 10, Precal 11, and Precal 12.  We are fortunate to have Matt back with us this year, while he works on his PhD dissertation in Epidemiology.  Welcome back Matt!

Kate

Kate starts her seventh year with Squamish Tutoring!  Kate raised her family in Squamish, and has just retired from Squamish Library.  The library community misses her, but we have gained a great support, full time, for our students. Kate has become our "expert" at tutoring Math 9 and 10, and this year is taking on the challenge of Math 11!

Loraine

Loraine joined our team two years ago.  Loraine has a strong background in physics from her home country of Chile.  She works full time as an engineer at a local engineering company, but enjoys helping students with "real" applications in Physics 11 and 12.

Cathy

We are fortunate to keep Cathy on staff for another year.  After moving to Squamish 5 years ago with her husband, Cathy has had to balance many demands - part time work for UBC, consulting, family, and of course a life of activity in Squamish.  Cathy loves to tutor Chemistry, but also excels in working with Math 10 and 11.

Uthpala

We are fortunate to welcome Uthpala back, now in her third year with us.   Uthpala brings experience from teaching math in Sri Lanka to work with our junior level students, Grades 7, 8, 9.  She is excited to be back again, and we hope to expand her availability this year!

Anu

We are fortunate to welcome Anu as she and family re-locate to Squamish.  Anu is currently working in the local school system with younger students.  However, from her background heading a Chemistry department at university level, she loves helping students make sense of the complexities of Chem 11 and 12.

Tejo

Tejo joins us this year after completing his math degree at Quest University.  He loves math, and while working in Squamish, wants to keep his Math brain alive while helping high school students.  His specialty will be Math 11, 12 and Calculus.

Varinder

Varinder joins us after her university work in India, and moving to Squamish two years ago.  While working outside of her academic field now, she wishes to keep in touch with her previous math expertise by working with local high school students.  Varinder will be one of our Math 10 experts.

Jasreen

Jasreen's background in academics is not getting the "exercise" her math brain wishes.  So she joins us this year to keep math "alive" for herself, and for the Math 9 students she will be working with.  She knows very well the preparation they need to be ready for high school level math!

Curriculum

We support students in their current classwork, in accordance with the curriculum of the school they are  attending.  We welcome communication with teachers as our work together helps students to be successful.
